Our property company has evolved over the last 60 years by way of it's founder, Bill Cunliffe.

Bill lived and worked in Ashton-in-Makerfield all of his life, starting in business as a joiner, then as a builder's merchant and also running a hardware shop in the town centre.

The opportunity to purchase shop property presented itself and the aquisition of commercial property began in parallel with the running of two, and then three separate businesses.

​

Eventually there was some property development involved to create new shop premises within the town centre and subsequently letting them to other forward thinking business people. Along with this was the purchasing of more shop property creating the portfolio which is managed today.

Joined by his son-in-law, Brian Jamieson, in 1998, the company W.Cunliffe Ltd, manages all of it's property from the same office that served the hardware shop, now the Post Office, many years ago.
